Can a fondant cake be refrigerated?

I'm making a cake for Sunday covered in fondant and adding a few other decorative pieces using fondant as well. Could I go ahead and cover the cakes in fondant tonight and store in the refrigerator and wait until tomorrow to finish decorating?
