Kaviani9 and Nny are correct both methods will work. I killed Poison Ivy with boiling white Vinegar and water 50/50 mix. Labor intensive but better than itching all summer. If you can not use this method lay cardboard/black plastic or thick layer of newspaper over the area water and weight down with decorative stone and wait.
