Is the stove in Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility used for cooking or is it decorative?

I bought the wood stove thinking I needed it for the frying pan. Turns out the frying pan goes on the counter. I don't see any recipes that are made on the stove in my guide. From what I've read online it looks like all cooking utensils go on the counter. As far as I can tell the stoves only purpose is for decoration. So did I waste my gold or can I actually get use out of this thing?
